Anthropologie Shoe Review

Retail merchant Anthropologie is earth, wind and fire! Not the music group but it’s all in the style. The neatest thing about this chain is that not only do they have clothing, perfume, books, housewares and furniture but they also have a tasty shoe collection online.

Heels
Eye-catching, personality-popping conversation starters that make you want to hold and caress them! Are they sexy? Surprisingly enough not the word one would think of, maybe a little on the sexy secretary side but there is not a pencil thin stiletto in the bunch. most of the heels are fairly chunky some a little overly so but they still manage to feel “girly” while looking terrific.

Flats

Polka dots and loafers to boot (get it boot?) They are rather simple not daring or different except that the “rain or shine” flats come in a clear brown and are water-resistant. Other than that it’s just another place to buy flats.

Boots

There is craftmanship and style but once again, sad to say, if you are looking for a sexy boot, the journey must continue. Unfortunately most of the boots look like something worn by wealthy farm hands instead of fashionable women on the go.

If a fashionista craves the unique, then most likely she’ll love Anthropologie. Greatness comes at a price and the shoe loving Anthropologie shopper will definitely pay a pretty penny for great shoes. However sales abound and a frugal shopper may just get lucky and find shoes to love and a nice price.

Stylish Ways to Pamper Your Feet

Color Theory 4 (28/52)

Many people give different answers when asked which part of their attire, makes the outfit. It is quite possible that those who say shoes make the outfit, are those who know how to select foot apparel in an economical and versatile way.

For quite some time, people have been wearing a good pair of comfortable sneakers, sandals, or shoes while traveling to and from work. They save their expensive, stylish footwear for on the job. Not foregoing style, people own more than one pair of these shoes, to match any occasion. Luckily, casual shoes come in all colors and styles. Mixing and matching patterns is also making a fashion comeback.

Checkerboard and other patterns

Casual walking shoes that come in a variety of colors in a checkerboard pattern look great with gingham stripes, plaid, or polka dot separates. Black on white Capri’s, skirts, or blazers look great when capped off with a pair of black and white checkered casual shoes.

Hues and Tones

Pastel colors mixed with different shades of brown, hang on clothing store racks everywhere today. The same is true for browns mixed with a wide array of blue and green hues. If you top off any outfit with a tan khaki blazer or tailored jacket, you can wear brown, pink, or blue-green and brown sandals or tennis shoes for a comfortable but classy look and feel.

Not just for running anymore

Shoemakers today realize that jogging will never go out of style. They design footwear to fit the lifestyle of the most enthusiastic jogger, but they consider styles for the workaholic as well as the party person.

Giving Back to the Community

Most fashion designers and clothing lines stand out in some way, because they offer unique products or because of the names behind the line. Other lines of clothing and related accessories stand out for a completely different reason. For example, some shoe manufacturers stand out because they vow to provide shoes for underprivileged children all over the world for every pair of shoes that customers buy. This isn’t just a special promotion – This is a promise that the shoe manufacturer has made and promised to keep for as long as they are in business, a promise known as “One for One.”

Toms shoes is an example of a company that you can really rely on to do right by the world. Founded in 2006, Tom’s Shoes is a shoe company with a serious mission. While the founder was in a participant on a TV show called “The Amazing Race” his team ended up in Argentina and when he noticed that not only did many poor children not have shoes, making them far more susceptible to disease- but that they were not allowed to attend school without shoes. As such founder Blake Mycoskie took initiative and created Tom’s Shoes. Tom’s shoes have created a variety of shoes, many based off the alpargata style he saw in Argentina. This is a really neat and distinct company that is doing good things all around the world by making sure that underprivileged children have access to shoes. There are too many children in the world that are forced to go barefoot, and Tom has vowed to make this stop.

If you have a passion for doing good things for the world, then buying a pair of shoes from Tom’s is a smart idea. Not only will you get a nice pair of shoes for yourself, but you will also be helping a child somewhere else in the world as a result.

Fashion and the Weather

The weather can dictate many things and it should dictate what you are wearing out of the house. Everyone knows that they should wear a rain coat if they are going to be going out in the rain and snow boots if they are going out in the snow. However, people tend to get stuck in a rut with their fashion and continue to wear weather pieces even when the weather has improved.

Fuzzy snow boots are great to have when it snows. However, if you live in an area where it is sunny year around or you have not seen snow for months, there is no reason to continue to wear the boots. Several stars have been photographed walking along the beach in their snow boots. The reason for this is unfathomable. Not only are their feet probably sweating but sand is getting in places where it should not be. Fuzzy boots are both comfortable and easy to put on, there is not arguing with that, but you should not be wearing them unless there is snow on the ground.

Summer clothes should only be worn in the summer. Nothing will draw attention to you like if you are wearing shorts or a tank top during a blizzard. While those clothes were a appropriate in the summer, the temperatures have dropped and the clothes need to be put away. When the temperatures are in the negatives and you are wearing a tank top, you are drawing attention but not in a good way. You not only look like you are freezing but you are exposing to much skin and appear sluty.

Dos and Don’ts of Fashion

Everyone always thinks that they look their best and no one wants to hear that they look terrible, but the truth is we probably are all guilty of committing at least one crime of fashion.

Probably the largest crime of fashion is to not dress your age. Many women think that by shopping in the teen department then they will look younger. However, the opposite is true. If you are trying to wear something that your child could also wear, you are just going to look like you are trying to hard.

Just because you can zip something up does not mean that it fits. Women seem to get obsessed with the idea that they are a certain size and that is it. However, every piece of clothing is different. You might be one size in a dress and another in a pair of pants. What is more important is that you understand how clothes are supposed to fit. Clothes should not bunch around any part of you or if your skin is bulging over the top of a dress, you need to go up to the next size. The reverse is also true. If the clothes are hanging you and you look a homeless person, then you need to go down a few sizes.

Color is great, but in small amounts. If you want to be fashion forward then you know that a pop of color is a great way to achieve that. However, when they say a pop of color, they really just one pop-not a whole outfit. Rather than wearing an entire colorful outfit, add a red belt or a yellow purse. Color can really make you stand out in a good way, but you need to make sure that you are doing it in the right way. The reverse is also true here. If you are wearing one solid color pallet, you will not only blend into a crowd up you will look boring and uncreative.

When to Buy Bargain Shoes or When to Splurge

Every woman knows the high of being in a shoe store and seeing all the shoes that you love on sell. However, there are times for you to buy shoes for a bargain and when to splurge.

When to by shoes for a bargain is tricky. Sales or knockoffs are always a great buy but you might pay a higher price later. First of all, you need to think about the shoes are so cheap in the first place. Are the shoes on sale because they are the types of shoe that you could only wear with one outfit. Buying shoes that are highly styled, like shoes that have a print, are a lot like bridesmaid dresses. they are something that you wear once and then sit in your closet forever. The shoes may also be uncomfortable or badly designed. In which case, they are a bad investment. However, if you have stumbled onto a great pair of shoes that are beautiful or from a designer sale, pick them up immediately.

There are several reasons to splurge on your shoes. Shoes that you will wear all the time like your workout shoes, a good pair of heels, and a sturdy pair of boots are always a staple in your close. Splurging on these shoes will ensure that your feet stay comfortable throughout the day, which is worth any amount of money.

Fashions Dos and Don’ts for the Office

There are several reasons why you want to look professional at work and the most important being that you want to get promoted one day. Professional office attire should be a statement about who you are while still being apporpriate for work. Still there are some rules that you should follow when dressing for the office.

The first and most important rule that should be followed all the time no matter what is to never show your undergarments. They are called undergarments for a reason- they go under your garments and should never make an appearance. If your pants are so low you can see panty or panty line, you are not dressed appropriately. If your shirt is so low cut you can see bra, then need to wear a cami under the top.

Secondly, work attire does not have to be boring. Gone are the days when it was only fashionable to wear grey and black. There are so many beautiful options out there for women to wear in the work place now, so try out a pop of color. Being professionally attired does not mean that you have to wear slacks and blazers all the time. There are several skirt and dress options that are equally appropriate when looking for work options. However, your color choices still need to make sense and be age appropriate. A pop of mauve is beautiful but a pop of hot pink will look silly.

I can remember looking at pictures of my mom working in the late 70s and 80s and thinking that she was dressed like a man. Luckily for me, the days when women wore very masculen outfits to the office are over. There are so many feminine outfits out there for women to wear. However, feminine does not mean sexy. There is a time and place to be sexy and the office is not that time. No low cut blouses, no skin tight dresses, nothing to short. You can look feminine and beautiful without showing off just how feminine you are.
